What’s the best way to prevent wearing a hole in a mattress caused by jumping on the bed?

My mother used to tell me to quit jumping on the bed because it will wear a hole in the mattress. I don’t live with her anymore, and I jump on my bed when I feel like it now–which is nearly every day. I know someone will plan to say that the best prevention is not jumping on the bed at all, but that is completely out of the question as I’m addicted to this activity. Would you recommend getting a mattress pad or something to cover that up to prevent premature wear to the mattress?

What about laying a piece of plywood across the top of the mattress?…although it will reduce the amount of bounce I get.

Tempurpedic seems to be too firm for me – need advice.?

Posted by Finest Mattress Comments (1)

I’ve had the 10 Inch Tempurpedic mattress for about a month. It seems a bit too firm for me. I still wake up in the middle of the night and toss and turn. My dog also tosses and turns on it. I’ve taken the cover off and slept on just the foam which is a little bit better but not enough.
I think I need something more softer and plushier. I think the idea of the memory foam is a good one but this one is too firm.
Is there a way to make the mattress cushier or should I just take it back. If I take it back, what brands should I look into? I’m thinking about the Sealy springfree whistlewood. I LOVED the kKingsdown mattress but did not get that one because it had so many bad ratings on epinions.com.
Thanks!!!

What is the best type of mattress to prevent aches and pains?

Posted by Finest Mattress Comments (1)

When I awake I often have pain to my neck or back which dissipates rather quickly. I wonder if it is from my mattress or pillows or if it is Arthritis beginning to exhibit itself. Whatever it is which mattress provides the best comfort and support?
